Contact Lens Evaluations

Contact lenses offer an alternative to glasses for vision correction, but finding the right lenses involves more than determining your prescription. A contact lens evaluation considers your visual needs, eye health, corneal measurements, and how the lenses fit and perform on your eyes.

At Simply Vision Optometry, we evaluate different contact lens options based on your prescription, lifestyle, and individual preferences, with an emphasis on clear vision, comfort, and healthy contact lens wear.

Spherical Contact Lenses

Spherical contact lenses are designed to correct nearsightedness (myopia) and farsightedness (hyperopia). They are a common option for patients who do not require significant astigmatism correction and are available in a variety of materials and replacement schedules.

Toric Contact Lenses for Astigmatism

Toric contact lenses are specifically designed to correct astigmatism, a condition caused by differences in the curvature of the eye. These lenses incorporate different corrective powers and are designed to maintain proper orientation on the eye to provide clear, stable vision.

Multifocal Contact Lenses

Multifocal contact lenses provide vision correction at multiple distances, helping patients who experience age-related changes in near focusing ability (presbyopia). They are designed to support everyday activities such as reading, computer use, and distance viewing while reducing dependence on reading glasses.

Toric Multifocal Contact Lenses

Toric multifocal contact lenses combine astigmatism correction with multifocal vision correction. They may be an option for patients who have both astigmatism and presbyopia and would like to see at multiple distances without relying as heavily on glasses.

Monovision Contact Lenses

Monovision is a contact lens fitting approach in which one eye is primarily corrected for distance vision and the other for near vision. This can be an alternative for patients experiencing presbyopia who prefer not to use multifocal contact lenses. Because adaptation varies from person to person, a trial fitting helps determine whether monovision is a comfortable and practical option.

Finding the Right Contact Lenses

Our contact lens evaluations include assessing lens fit, vision, comfort, and ocular health. We also provide guidance on proper lens handling, cleaning, replacement, and safe wearing habits.

Whether you are new to contact lenses or considering a different lens design, our goal is to help you find an option that works well for your eyes and daily activities.
